Kassa Ayalew, MD, MPH, is a Virginia based Ethiopian American Activist and Physician who believes in the strong connection between medicine and human rights.
Kassa is one of the founding members of March 4 Freedom and Ethiopian American Civic Advocacy. Presently he works to stop genocide and dictatorship in Ethiopia by mobilizing and empowering concerned citizens and groups to advance the dignity and well being of all Ethiopians, through actions that promote respect for, and protection and fulfillment of human rights and bring change.
Kassa has been actively involved in the struggle to advance human rights and democracy in Ethiopia/Africa for over 20 years. He is a former Whitman Walker Clinic Volunteer and currently a member of Physician for Human Rights network of pro-bono doctors who provide examinations for political refugees seeking asylum in the United States.
